"BIG in Astoria" is the new release from one of my favorite NYC-based bands. Lead singer Meghan Taylor fronts the quintet that specializes in CBGB's style punk mixed with 21st century pop hooks.

Don't believe anyone when they tell you that there's no good music being produced these days. I think it's the exact opposite. In fact I can't keep up with all of it and it gets difficult to include the great music I receive on playlists when I have a guest in the studio. That's why I decided to take an hour & bring you independent music from across the country & around the world.
Take a deep breath before jumping in - this is Daddies' first EP and between the stinging guitar leads and infectious rhythms, these shout-along bangers are sure to make a daddy outta anybody.
LOUD WOMEN is a group for all those who support putting women on stage, and turning up the volume. It’s a not-for-profit initiative run by Cassie Fox of I, Doris and GUTTFULL, with help from some brilliant friends.
Plaid Dracula is the glittering mutant offspring of lightning bolt tattoos and ill-advised drunk text messages. They love you very much.
We kickstart the show with Plaid Dracula's rocker "Glitter Sweat" and then I paired the band's glamtrash with other independent artists from beyond the borough that I would love to see Plaid Dracula play with.
Speaking of which, if you snag a ticket to Plaid Dracula's next banger at Mercury Lounge on January 24th with Daddies and shoot them a screenshot they'll send you download codes for their last two EPs. Do it!
New York City stalwarts Dirt Bikes draw listeners in with compact songs that blend garage energy, college rock jangle, and a bit of pop shimmer. Running the gamut from frank intimacy to furious energy, they take us from back porch reminiscences to the front lines of protests, visiting ghosts of the past and tackling the anxieties of our shared present.

Women That Rock (2018)
Grayhunter is some sort of rock band from NYC. Released in November 2018, Grayhunter's EP "Comeback Kid" is about four different types of rock bottom and finding the strength to rise above them against all odds.
RunHideFight on Hidden Volume Records perform raucous garage rock fueled by motherhood-meets-Marshall angst. Think Thee Headcoatees meets early Cheap Trick. RHF was spawned from the Philly garage rock DNA of Rockula, Brother JT, The Creatures of the Golden Dawn, The Original Sins, Mae Pang and Three 4 Tens.
